What is the age range of children attending DC-TK Tunas Unggul?
For baby daycare, ranging in age from 6 months-24 months, toodler 2-3 years, playgroup 3-4 years, kindergarten A 4-5 years, and kindergarten B 5-6 years..
How many hours does the child spend at school?
Monday-Thursday, children attend school from 08:00-12:30. For Friday, it is from 08.00-11.00.
What are the featured programs at TK Tunas Unggul?
The excellent program at TK Tunas Unggul is using the IB curriculum, integrated with the independent curriculum and the ruhiyah program which is the main basis for every child’s learning.
How is the IB curriculum implemented in children's learning?
The hallmark of IB learning is based on inquiry. The teacher will be the facilitator of the child, so that the child can find out for themselves about what will be explored. For example, during the theme of how we express ourselves, the teacher will not give a lot of material about expressing themselves. However, children will be invited to express themselves through various activities, such as providing storybooks, drawing tools, various kinds of musical instruments, tools and materials for making works, and so on.
How is the Islamic religious education (ruhiyah) program at school?
Tunas Unggul Kindergarten has a special ruhiyah / PAI curriculum. The program consists of Habituation, theme exploration, philosophy of learning, tahfidz and special events. Habituation consists of morning habituation and closing habituation, containing the recitation of daily prayers, asmaul husna and memorization of short letters. exploration of ruhiyah themes we specialize in Friday material about tawhid, morals and worship as well as stories of the Prophets. philosophy of learning integrates ruhiyah in the exploration of learning themes. Each theme exploration must be based on the asmaul husna and the corresponding Quranic verse so that in the KBM process the material will be related to the meaning of the asmaul husna and theme. The tahfidz program consists of ziyadah (additional memorization), murojaah (repeating memorization), and tahfidz graduation (annual appreciation session) activities. ziyadah and murojaah activities are carried out integrated with habituation. The memorization targets are tiered and continuous from PG-TK A-TK B. Special events consist of Ramadan, qurban and manasik etc.
How is English used in school?
Every day children are supported to use English through simple conversations, introductory language exploration of themes, sing a song, simple instruction and others. what is certain is that teachers use English every day with children. except for certain children who still need more help to be able to speak clearly both in articulation and language understanding.
Is TK Tunas Unggul an inclusive school?
yes, the school is an inclusive school. we have a team of LSDC (ortho and special teachers) and psychologists who support the needs of special program children. Special program children will get a special program in addition to the class learning program to support their needs. The class program will also be adjusted to their abilities.
What is the enrollment flow for children with special needs?
Before enrolling, children who are identified as having developmental disabilities or have had therapy or children with special needs will be observed and then enrolled.
Is there a catering and pick-up service at the school?
For the pick-up service, every time you go home there is a teacher who will take you in the pick-up car.
Is reading taught at school?
We stimulate reading skills, not teach them. Stimulating activities are carried out from the start of preparing basic or pre-reading abilities ranging from motor, language to early concept knowledge. The strategy still uses play-based learning.
